Lincoln County Sheriff, William Brady, leads his deputies down the main street of Linclon, New Mexico on the morning of April 1, 1878. As the men walked along, gunmen rose up from behind and adobe wall and fired into the quartet. Brady and his deputy, George Hindman were killed; the other deputies and the gunmen escaped. This crime for which and unknown gunman named Billy the Kid was branded an outlaw and for which he alone would be pursued. |
