On the Island of Sala-ma-Sond, Yertle was king of the pond, but he wanted to be master of all he surveyed – and so he built his Turtle Tower on the backs of his people. This story was fashioned after WWII’s most infamous dictator. But in the end, “all the turtles are free as turtles and, maybe all creatures should be.”
