Swept Away "Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin Dance me through the panic 'til I'm gathered safely in Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove Dance me to the end of love " -Leonard Cohen The movement of love, the sexual tension and the balance of gravity is what Swept Away is about. I wanted to sculpt a visual relationship of abundance in living and loving. To feel the raw passion of loving another human is the fruit of existence and the warmth of the soul. In Swept Away there is also the trust of being flung into the air by the faith of loving and knowing that only love can elevate the soul and body to such a buoyant position. I have experienced the ultimate highs of loving and also the crash, but in this sculpture I chose to highlight the lightness of loving another person. That incredible feeling of levitation through love.
