The Gunnar Nordstrom Gallery is a small and intimate space located in the heart of downtown Kirkland in the Marina District just steps away from Lake Washington and nestled among unique shops and great restaurants.



Gunnar Nordstrom Fine Arts first opened in Bellevue, Washington in 1985 in a small showroom and office with its first gallery space opening in 1990 in the trendy lakeside arts community of Kirkland as a venue for regional painters and printmakers and has become one of the Eastside's oldest galleries.

HISTORY

Gunnar Nordstrom Fine Arts was established in 1985 in a small office and showroom in Bellevue as a resource for collectors looking to purchase original prints by International artists such as Chagall, Miro, Motherwell, and Warhol from a competent and honest art dealer in the Pacific Northwest.

The journey from an office and showroom in Bellevue to a gallery in Kirkland back again to Bellevue and returning to Kirkland in 2019 has been an exciting and rewarding experience that rewards every collector of the gallery with the experience of an art dealer well informed and familiar with the art market.

Previously, Gunnar Nordstrom had graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Fine Arts and Education. After two years of teaching Social Studies and Washington State History in Vancouver, Washington, he spent the next 3 years with a regional gallery in Bellevue as director. Learning the art business in a fast paced, highly merchandised gallery, it didn’t take long before defining a direction and moving on to open an office and showroom of his own.

As an art dealer since 1982, I have been dedicated to helping clients realize and meet their art collecting goals and at the same time, encouraging and shaping young artist’s careers. I strive to educate every new collector by assisting them in developing their own aesthetic sensibilities and identifying personal direction of artistic interests. During these past 37 years, I have built a reputation of integrity and have always been driven to offer works of art that have authenticity, good value and aesthetic appeal.
