Originally trained as an electrical engineer, Margaris left an automotive engineering career at Ford Motor Company in 1997 and received art training in California from 1999 to 2005. In 2009 he moved back to Michigan and since the beginning of 2012 have returned to painting urban landscapes that depict the subject matter of freeways and roadways.
