Debbie Tomassi is a painter, humorous writer and illustrator who lives in Seattle, Washington. She regularly shows her fine art at various locations around the Pacific Northwest, and will show a selection of her latest paintings in Tokyo in the spring of 2005.
Tomassi's commercial art has adorned hundreds of greeting cards and many other social-expression products. Her cards can be found anywhere Recycled Paper Greetings are sold and her book, Paint Box, a Colorful Romance, was published by Little, Brown and Company, and is available anywhere fine books are sold as well as the gallery.
Over the years she has established a substantial list of clients, both public and private. Most notable among them are: American Greetings, Cost Plus, Fisher-Price, Kinko's, Madison Park Greetings, Microsoft, Recycled Paper Greetings, The Seattle Times, Sony Pictures, Target, and Walgreen's.
While creating a living in the commercial world Tomassi has continually pursued her fine art and interest in printmaking and maintains a busy and productive life of humor and romance. With a quirky naif-style Tomassi creates colorful masterpieces and wonderful relationships. It's "love is never perfect" message is a universal one, and her works speak to the heart of what makes a relationship work in today's world.
